Conference Presentation

The Ninth International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2009) will be held in June 2009 in San Sebastián, Spain. ICWE 2009 aims at promoting practical and scientific excellence on Web Engineering and at bringing together practitioners, and researchers working in technologies, methodologies, tools, and techniques used to develop and maintain Web-based applications leading to better applications and systems, and thus to enabling and improving the dissemination and use of content and services through the Web. (Download here the PDF version of the pdf ICWE 2009 Call for Papers).

Web Engineering addresses these issues and focuses on systematic, disciplined and quantifiable approaches towards the cost-effective development and evolution of high-quality, ubiquitously usable Web-based systems and applications.

Call for Research & Industrial Papers

Authors of this track must explain the relationship of their work to the Web Engineering discipline in their submission. Research paper must comprise substantial innovative discussion with respect to the related work and must be well motivated and presented. Paper submissions should be formatted according to the LNCS guidelines and must not be longer than 15 (fifteen) pages.

Important Dates for Full Papers
  • Submission: February 19, 2009 (23:59 Hawaii Time)
  • Notification of acceptance: April 5, 2009
  • Camera-ready version: April 20, 2009

Please refer to the conference Web site for details about the other tracks.

Demos, Workshops, Tutorials, Posters, and PhD symposium

ICWE 2009 will host, next to the regular full-paper track, a number of other activities and presentations: tutorials, workshops, tool demonstrations, posters and doctoral consortium presentations.

All submisions, no matter the track, will be handled through the EasyChair system. On entering, the user should selecte the appropriate track.

Please refer to the specific calls for additional details:

Publishing of accepted works

The conference proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag as an LNCS volume. Official proceedings will include: full papers (15 pages), demonstration papers (4 pages) and posters (4 pages). Workshop papers and contributions to the doctoral consortium will be published separately.

Submission to the conference implies the willingness to subscribe and participate to the event for presenting the submitted work. Final versions of accepted papers must strictly adhere to the Springer Verlag LNCS formatting style (you can find MS Word and Latex templates on the Springer Web site) and must include a printable final (camera ready) version file an all source files. No changes to such formatting rules are permitted. Authors of accepted papers must also download and sign a copyright form that will be made available on the Web site of the conference.

LNCS is listed in various indexing and abstracting services such as DBLP, ZBlMath/CompuServe, core EI Compendex database, IO-Port, ACM Portal, Scopus, INSPEC, and ISI Proceedings.
